New Blood Saga Maps

The land of Maarihk was named for the first of the eight Firstborn created by the God, Ril the Bold. It is also the land where Mankind was created, when the Olde Gods still walked.

The Olde Gods started it all, once the God, Vald, created the world, Valdiss. The Olde Gods were four: Bohrd the Radiant, Ril the Bold, Vald the Chaste, and Kir the Strong.

Olde Gods

The New Gods came about through war, both amongst the Gods and Their creations. The instigator was Kir the Strong, the Wargod, God of War and Bloodshed. The defender was His brother, Ril the Bold, God of War and Strategy. Kir was general to His creations, the Aa, the second race of Mankind, whose numbers were vast. He led them against the last the of the Great Beasts, the first race of Mankind, the Firstborn, which were created by Ril the Bold.

After centuries of bloodshed and loss, destruction on a scale never seen before or since, the mass numbers of Aa surmounted even the mysterious Sight the Firstborn. The brute force and savage relentlessness of one brother overcame the superior tactics and strategies of the other. To save His creations from extermination, Ril the Bold had no choice but to sue for peace. Kir the Wargod granted it, but with conditions. The Olde Gods would step aside for Him to create New Gods under His rule.

New Gods

To ensure that the Firstborn never rose up or sought retribution against the Aa, they were forced away from the land of creation, Maarihk, and the life-giving ancient wood. They were banished to a frosty island, apart from the rest of the world, separated by the Long Water, where they remain.
